Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus

Many Samsung fans have awaited the release of the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+. It features a large infinity display with curved corners and edges. With this kind of display, Samsung has ditched the traditional home buttons to come up with such a beautiful aesthetic for their Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+. All the buttons are now shifted to on-screen navigation. Also, the home button has now placed on-screen which works when pressure is applied.
Every time that Samsung releases a new flagship phone, one thing that keeps surprising us is the new accessibility features. Other features gave the users a “YES” kind of a surprise. However, some of it gave them the “WHY” kind of surprise. For example, after they have released the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ that’s buttonless, many have been expecting for the double tap to wake up the display or send it to sleep. But unfortunately, Samsung didn’t give it to them. Instead, the manufacturer has introduced the Always On Display feature.

Double Tap Feature On Samsung Galaxy S9:

Ditching out the easy ways to access information such as the notifications, date and time which is constantly placed on the display of the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ has made the users anxious. The double tap option for waking up the Galaxy S9 and for getting the display to sleep is probably one of the good little things a smartphone can have.

So now, it’s up to you if you like to take what you get and keep the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ as it is or whether you like to turn back this option to make a change. The good news is, there’s no need to be anxious anymore. You can still have the double tap to wake or sleep your Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+. Here’s how you can enable the feature again:

How To Enable Double Tap Wake Or Sleep

If you want to get back the double tap to wake and sleep feature of the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+, you need to install a third-party app that supports this kind of feature. You can get it from the Google Play Store which offers numerous apps for different purposes, and all of these apps are functioning completely as it is designed to wake or sleep the display of your Galaxy S9, whenever you double tap it.
We recommend either installing the Nova launcher, which has the double tap feature, or Double Tap Pro. The Nova launcher takes over more of the user experience, but provides lots of added features and customizability. Double Tap Pro costs $.99 but works like a charm.
But if you notice that this third-party eats up most of your battery life, you can always delete it. As we all know, running an app permanently would really hurt the battery. It would be a good option to test it up first before deciding whether to delete it or not.
That’s basically how you can enable back the double tap wake and sleep feature of Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+. The only choice would be to download a third-party app. Or maybe, just maybe, Samsung will come to realize how great this feature is and bring it back again after an update. But for now, that’s how it would work.
