Fixing Not Getting Texts On Apple iPhone 8 And iPhone 8 Plus

Some owners of the new Apple iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus have reported of having issues getting text messages from other phone users. Some other owners have reported that they don’t receive messages from Android contacts. These are two separate issues and are considered to be part of the common problems iPhone users face. I’ll explain below how you can solve this issue on your Apple iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus.

The first issue and the most common one that has been reported is that some owners of the Apple iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus are finding it impossible to receive texts from Android users. The other issue is that owners of the Apple iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus are not allowed to send messages to non-Apple phone users like Windows, Blackberry, and some others as the messages are sent as iMessage.

These two different problems could occur on your device if you had previously used the iMessage service on your iPhone and then moved the same SIM card to your Apple iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus. You would be experiencing this issue if you forgot to deactivate the iMessage feature before transferring your SIM card.

However, no need to be worried, because this issue of not being able to send or receive texts can be fixed on our Apple iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus.

How you can fix your iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus not Receiving Messages:

The first effective method of fixing this issue of not getting text messages on your device is to locate Settings of your device, then click on Messages and then go to Send & Receive. Click on ‘Use your Apple ID for iMessage’ and provide your Apple ID to sign in. Be sure that your phone number and your Apple ID are both listed under You Can Be Reached By iMessage. YOu can now go back to your iOS device and click on Settings, then click on Messages and select Send & Receive.

In case, your original iPhone is not available, or you are having difficulties deactivating the iMessage. The next effective method is to visit Deregister iMessage page and switch off iMessage. Once you locate the Deregister page, move to the bottom of the page and click on the option named “no longer have your iPhone?” A field will be provided below this option that you can type your details such as your region and phone number. After typing the details, select Send Code, and then type the code that was sent into the field named “enter confirmation code” and press submit.
