Galaxy S8 And Galaxy S8 Plus: Check if Text Message Was Delivered

Delivery information is actually a pretty cool info. If you’re texting a lot and getting fewer answers than you would expect, finding out if and precisely when a text message was delivered can be handy. And while most smartphones provide this delivery information by default, Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus don’t do it.

At least not by default, in which case you will need to manually enable the reporting feature from the stock Messaging app on your Android phone.

The simple steps to enabling Delivery Reports on Android:

  1. Launch the texting app that you are using;
  2. Go to the MORE menu;
  3. Tap on Settings;
  4. Select More Settings;
  5. Tap on either “Multimedia messages” or “Text Messages”;
  6. Activate the Delivery reports for any of these or for both of them – depending on the version you’re using, you could have the SMS and MMS listed separately, but you will know what you have to do.

Leave the menus and you’re ready to enjoy the Delivery Reports on Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8 Plus. From now on, every time when you send a text message you will be able to see the delivery details through a menu labeled as “View report” or “View message details”.

Suffices to tap and hold on a specific message and you should see under that menu what status it has – Received, Delivered, Pending, None. Also, if the message was delivered without problems, you could just see the time of the delivery.

The only aspect we should add is that the feature does not apply retrospectively, so you will only be able to see this information for the messages you will send after you have enabled the Delivery Reports on Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8 Plus.
