Your Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus comes with a Do Not Disturb mode. By default, when you turn on this mode, it silences all alarms and notifications. If you want to set your Do Not Disturb mode only for select notifications and alarms, you can do that through the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus settings.

The Quick Way to Turn On Do Not Disturb Mode

  • Swipe down from the top of your Home screen
  • Find the Do Not Disturb icon and tap it to turn on.

How to use Do Not Disturb Mode with a Custom List

If you prefer to setup custom settings for the Do Not Disturb mode on your Samsung Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8 Plus, you can do that through Settings. If you use the clock and alarm on your phone, avoid selecting the “Turn off alarm and time” item.

You can also set times to automatically turn the Do Not Disturb mode on and off. Once set, the Do Not Disturb mode will automatically turn on and off every day at the same times. Currently, it is not possible to set the Do Not Disturb mode for specific days of the week or weekends.

Not only can you select which apps and notifications you want to use the Do Not Disturb mode on, you can also select contacts, too. You can block all contacts, or select specific ones to block. There is also an option to allows calls and texts from contacts in your Favorites list to sound. To block specific contacts, just add them to the custom list.

Method 1: How to turn ON Do Not Disturb mode

  1. Open Settings
  2. Tap “Sounds and vibration” icon
  3. Select “Do not disturb”
  4. Choose “Turn on now” or “Turn on as scheduled” and slide toggle to “on”
