How To Schedule Auto Restart On Samsung Galaxy S8 And Galaxy S8 Plus

If you’ve ever encountered any kind of problems with your Samsung Galaxy S8 device and spent time reading troubleshooting guides, you know there’s one quick fix that keeps getting mentioned – restarting the phone.

In case you were wondering, the simple restart process works with so many different problems because:

  • Allows the device to free up more RAM;
  • Improves the performances of the device;
  • Eliminates any glitches in the functionality of particular apps or the operating system itself.

Since restarting a phone is so important in critical moments, did it ever occur to you that it could be even more important to do it when everything seems to be ok? Otherwise said, how about you would restart the smartphone as a preventive measure, on a regular basis?

Do not worry; you won’t have to write down in your calendar to restart Samsung Galaxy S8 every other day. In exchange, Samsung is giving you the opportunity to use a dedicated feature called the Auto Restart. This one was particularly designed to:

  • Restart your device at a given time, according to a previously established schedule;
  • Spare you from dealing with unexpected restarts when you are in the middle of an important action – which is why it will only restart when the device has the screen turned off;
  • Make sure it won’t take up your device’s resources at the wrong times – which is why it will only restart when the phone has at least 30% battery.

If you’re the type of user who explores the menus of the phone intensively and you didn’t bump into the Auto Restart feature on Samsung Galaxy S8, it’s because the manufacturer placed it somewhere rather hidden. Unless you were looking to factory reset the device, you couldn’t possibly find it.

But all that is about to change today, when you will learn:

  6. Select Auto Restart;
  7. Edit the scheduled date and hour which, by default, are set to every Monday on 3 AM;
  8. Turn the feature on and leave the menus.

From now on, Samsung Galaxy S8 will automatically restart at your preferred hour and day. Of course, you can always change the default settings, like mentioned, but keep in mind that it is best if you use the Auto Restart feature on Galaxy S8 during the night, to make sure the device will run smoother first thing in the morning.
