How To Turn OFF Keyboard Sounds In iPhone 7 And iPhone 7 Plus

For those that own an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus, you may want to know how to turn off keyboard sounds. The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus have sound features that are made when clicking on the keyboard. This includes a clicking sound every time you type on the iPhone keyboard to notify you when something is being typed on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Some iPhone users enjoy the sound effect as it helps them to type on the virtual keyboard easier. While other iPhone users find it to be annoying of a clicking sound when typing on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus keyboard. If you don’t want to hear the clicky sound effects when typing, you can quickly turn the keyboard clicking feature off and have the key taps stay quiet.

When disabling the keyboard sound effects on your iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, you can permanently make changes of the clicking sound through a settings change, or if you just want to be quiet for a short time, you can use a broader mute option too to stop the clicking sounds on the iPhone.

This works to disable the keyboard sounds on iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. The setting option is available in virtually every version of iOS and is always located in the same place:

  1. Open the “Settings” app on your iPhone and choose “Sounds”
  2. Scroll all the way to the bottom and find “Keyboard Clicks” flip that switch to the “OFF” position
  3. Exit out of Settings

Temporarily Turn Off Keyboard Sounds with Mute on iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus

For those iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus users that like the keyboard click sounds, another option is to temporarily turn off the key clicking sounds by using the devices Mute button. Just change the mute switch while typing and the clicking sounds won’t be heard, of course neither will anything else when Mute is on, however, which is why this is just a temporary measure.

These changes will instantly happen and allow to turn off the clicking sounds on your iPhone. You can go to any app that you would type and normally hear the click sounds, you’ll find them to be nonexistent and you are no longer announcing to the surrounding vicinity that you are typing on an iOS keyboard.

If you want to clicking sounds to make noise again, you can go back into the Settings > Sound and toggling the Keyboard Clicks switch back ON will make the click on tap sounds appear again.
