Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus: How to Check if Text Message Was Delivered

Delivery information is very useful information. It comes in handy in situations where you are sending a lot of texts, but receiving fewer replies than expected. Why is this? It might be because your message was not delivered.
Most smartphones in the market offer delivery information by default, but the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus do not. What can you do about it? Luckily, all you need to do is to manually enable the reporting feature of the default Messages application in your smartphone. Read this simple guideline to find out how.

Enabling Delivery Reports on Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus

  1. Make sure your Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus is turned on
  2. Open the Messages app you are currently using
  3. Click on the More option
  4. Go to Settings
  5. Click More Settings
  6. Click on either Multimedia Messages or Text Messages
  7. Enable Delivery Reports for either of these options or for both of them. This varies on the version of your firmware (as they could be listed separately), but it will be made pretty clear

Once you are done, you can leave the Settings menu. You are ready to make use of the Delivery Reports on your smartphone. After this, whenever you send a text message, you will be able to access the delivery details by clicking on the menu that says “View Report” or “View Message Details.”
You can click and hold a specific message to see the status of the message. It can be either Received, Delivered, Pending, or None. If the text message was delivered without any problems, you will also see the timestamp indicating when it was delivered.
You should note that Delivery Reports does not apply retrospectively. This means that you will not be able to see any delivery information on old messages when you did not have this feature enabled. You can only see it after you have enabled Delivery Reports on your Galaxy S9 or Galaxy S9 Plus.
