MHL stands for Mobile High-Definition Link. If you have ever wondered about using the screen mirroring feature on your Samsung Galaxy S9 or Galaxy S9 Plus, keep reading because below we will provide you with a step-by-step guide. There are many different ways to screen mirror your device onto a TV using MHL support. Users have found this process rather difficult with the software currently on the phone.

Below we will walk through two of the easiest ways to achieve the screen mirror feature on the Samsung Galaxy S9 or Galaxy S9 Plus.

Hard-wired Connection

  1. The first step requires you to buy an MHL adapter that is compatible with your device
  2. Attach an adapter to the port on your Samsung Galaxy S9 or Galaxy S9 Plus
  3. Now connect the power supply to the adapter
  4. Then connect a standard HDMI cable for a connection with your adapter to HDMI socket of your TV or monitor
  5. Finally, you should be connected and will be able to flip the tv over to the correct HDMI channel to see your phone’s screen content

If you are using an older TV that uses analogue, then you will need to use an  HDMI to composite adapter. This should allow for the method to work.

Wireless Connection

  1. Start by looking for a Samsung Allshare Hub
  2. When you have acquired one, use a standard HDMI cable to connect your TV to the hub.
  3. You now need to have the TV and your Samsung Galaxy S9 or Galaxy S9 Plus connected to the same wireless network
  4. Then connect your phone to the wireless network by going to the settings of the phone
  5. Finally, navigate and select the Screen Mirroring option

If you own a Samsung SmartTV, the wireless capability will be installed already. This means that there is no need for the Allshare hub.
