iPhone X Fix for ‘’ This Cable Or Accessory Is Not Certified’’ Error

“This cable or accessory is not certified and may not work reliably with this iPhone” is a common error message familiar to Apple owner since the last ornate Vernon released on the iPhone 7. A number of iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max and iPhone Xr users have encountered the same error when charging. This is because they used a fake Apple USB not recognized by the device.

If you got the “This cable or accessory is not certified or may not work reliably with this iPhone” error message, there is no need to fret. Nothing is wrong with your iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max and iPhone Xr save for the fact that your smartphone is trying to avoid a charging problem.

We will answer the question as to why Apple does not support third-party product and also provide solutions so that you can charge your iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max and iPhone Xr with what Apple terms as “fake cables.”

If you have been having issues with your iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max and iPhone Xr or another Apple smartphone for a while, we provide the option to sell your phones and electronics for cash with Gazelle Trade-In.

Users are not allowed to use third-party charges on the Apple products because of the 30-pin and lightning issues that affect iOS devices and iPhone cables too. Using chargers that are not approved by Apple constitutes a security risk with cases of phones exploding leading to severe injury or even death. (Read about it here).

Apple uses Mfi licenses to ensure that all of its products have been tested to withstand damage to the user and the smartphone you’re using. To prevent iPhone users from taking risks with third-party chargers, the iOS 11 technology will actively prevent charging on Apple smartphone whenever a fake cable is used. There is an embedded code in iOS 11 that provides the firmware with information as to whether there is an authenticator chip in the charger. Only Apple USB chargers possess this chip which makes it easy for your smartphone to block third-party chargers.

Thankfully, we have a solid way to fix this issue whenever you get the error message. You can now use your off-brand cable to charge your iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max and iPhone Xr successfully and risk-free.

  4. Turn on your iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max and iPhone Xr after about 15 minutes and ignore any warnings that pop up on your screen
