Google Play Store Won’t Open On Galaxy S8 And Galaxy S8 Plus (Solution)

If you have a Samsung Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8 Plus and can’t seem to get the Google play store to open, here we want to offer some help.

This can be a hugely frustrating issue, especially if you are desperate to download apps like games, social media and others. Many users are complaining of the Google play app closes as soon as selected and presents the sign, “Google Play services have stopped”. Here we outline the ways in which you can get around this issue on Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus.

Fix Google Play Store On Galaxy S8 And Galaxy S8 Plus

Follow these steps to fix the issue:

  1. Start at the home screen.
  2. Go to the App menu.
  3. Select Settings and then tap on “Application Manager”.
  4. Next to the Play Store option, there should the “All” tab.
  5. Here you should be able to find “Google Play Store”.
  6. Tapping it will open the Play Store’s settings.

You can then continue following the below instructions to continue resetting the settings of the Google Play Store. This should get the app working.

  1. Select stop force.
  2. Then Clear data.
  3. Then select Clear cache.
  4. And finally, Uninstall Updates.

Once these steps are complete, you then need to hold on the Power button and tap on “Reset”. This will restart your Galaxy S8/S8 Plus and make the changes you have made set in place.

In the vast majority of cases, once your phone has restarted the Google play app should open just fine. If it didn’t work, you may have missed a step. You can always go through the above steps again to make sure you did everything as described.
