There are several reasons why you would want to block calls on your iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus in iOS, but its best use would be to block spammers and telemarketers from contacting people on their smartphones.
 
How to block Contacts on iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus in iOS:

  1. Make sure that your iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus in iOS is turned on
  2. Starting from the Home screen, tap the Settings app. It’s the gear icon
  3. Search and select either Phone, Messages, or FaceTime
  4. Click “Blocked”
  5. Click on Add New to block a new person or contact
  6. Search for the person that you want to block in your contact list and select their name

  2. Starting from the Home screen, tap the Phone app
  3. Choose Recent Calls

  6. Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page and click Block this Caller
  7. Finally, confirm by clicking “Block Contact”

  1. Make sure that your iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus in iOS is turned on.
  2. Starting from the Home screen, tap the Messages app.
  3. Search and choose from the message thread, the person that you want block.
  4. Click Contact and then tap the Info button.
  5. Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page and click Block this Caller.
  6. Finally, confirm by clicking Block Contact.
