How To Calibrate Compass On Samsung Galaxy S7 And S7 Edge

Both the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge feature a Compass app that many people don’t know how to access or calibrate. And really, that isn’t exactly surprising, since most people don’t actually need to use a compass in their daily lives. Even so, it’s always good to actually understand how your phone works, and you never know when you might actually need it.

Below, we’ll explain how you can calibrate the compass on the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, so it will allow you to use the Compass feature on the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge.

How To Calibrate the Compass On the Samsung Galaxy S7 And S7 Edge:

  1. Turn on the Samsung Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 Edge.
  2. From the Home screen, select the Phone app.
  3. Switch to the dial pad.
  4. Type *#0*# on the dialer.
  5. Then select the Sensor tile.
  6. Browse to the Magnetic Sensor.
  7. Now move the Samsung Galaxy S7 completely around each axis.
  8. Move the compass sensor of the Samsung Galaxy S7 until its completely calibrated.
  9. Exit the service menu by repeatedly tapping the Back button.

And just like that, the compass on your Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 Edge has been calibrated. It might take a bit of practice to get good at reading it properly, but at least the option is now available to you. Besides, maybe it can make a decent party trick at your next family dinner.
