How To Enable Developer Mode On Apple iPhone X

There are a great amount of new features like the security settings and many other options which Apple decided to hide from standard users, but are available in the new Apple iPhone X. For iPhone X users who want to use these features, the great news is that with developer mode enabled, you are able to access these. You can control additional aspects changes to the settings, or enable USB debugging for advanced functions with Developer Mode Options.

For those Apple iPhone X users who want to become developers, install third party software/ROMs, or simply just want to mess with your new phone, you’ll have to start with unlocking the developer menu options on the iPhone X. Below is a step by step instruction on how to turn on Developer Mode on the Apple iPhone X.

How to Enable Developer Mode on iPhone X

  1. Connect your iPhone 8 or iPhone X Plus to your computer
  2. Hold the “Home” + “Power” buttons on your iPhone X at the same time for 10 seconds
  3. Let go of the “Power” button without releasing the home button. Continue press the “Home” button for another 10 seconds
  4. Release “Home”, and your screen should stay completely black. If so, chances are you successfully entered into iPhone DFU Reset

After doing this, iTunes will automatically open and pops up a notification: “iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone 8 or iPhone X before it can be used with iTunes.” If your screen is black and iTunes reports this message, this is a surefire indicator that you are successfully in DFU mode.
