How To Fix iTunes Waiting For Changes To Be Applied And Won’t Sync On iPhone iOS

There are times when you see a message that says “waiting for changes to be applied in iOS 8’ when you comment your Apple device to iTunes. This message can be frustrating and makes it impossible for users to use their iTunes. However, I’m sure you will be glad to know that there are ways to fix this issue on your iPhone or iPad.

This issue has been reported by Apple device owners that have upgraded their devices to the new iOS update which has affected the Wi-Fi syncing abilities of the iTunes program. This issue is st commonly to people that are using iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5 and iPhone 4s and owners of some iPad models too.

It does not matter the type of Apple device that you are using, if you are experiencing this issue, all you need to do is follow the steps below and you will be fine. When you are done updating your Apple device from iOS 7.1.2 to iOS 8, all your music files will be automatically removed from your iTunes library and its common knowledge that you can’t transfer music on the iPhone or iPad with iTunes.

There are some iOS users that are experiencing the iPhone sync session failed to start issue, there is no need to worry because this issue can also be solved. Other issues that have been reported by users include not being able to find the sync button to move music files from iMac or Windows to iPhone. If you are experiencing any of these issues, follow the guidelines below.

  1. First, you will need to unmark “Sync Music” option in iTunes
  2. Locate the General option, tap on Usage, then click on Manage Storage and delete music
  3. You can now mark the “Sync Music” option again
  4. Locate the iTunes summary tab and click on “Sync only checked songs & videos” and then click on the option “Manually manage music & videos”
  5. You can now try to sync again

Reset Network Settings

  1. Locate your Settings app, search for the General option and reset the network settings
  2. Click on “Trust this computer.”
  3. Locate the iTunes Summary tab, and mark the box placed beside the option to “manually manage music and videos”
  4. You can then try to Sync again

Change Music Sync Option

  1. Unmark sync music in iTunes and then confirm the changes
  2. Mark sync music option again and confirm the changes

Note: If the issue persists, switch off “Convert higher bitrate songs to 128kbps” and see if it works

Syncing Solution for iPad Only

  1. Deactivate your Bluetooth feature
  2. Unmark “Manually Manage Music” option and mark it again
  3. Deselect the box to modify the bitrate. Then select the box again

Delete Non-Music Files

  1. Locate your iTunes music folder
  2. Wipe off non-music files
  3. Restore your smartphone from backup and then add all your music files again

USB Cable 

  1. Power on your iPhone or iPad
  2. Connect your Apple device to your computer via a USB cable
  3. Locate your device menu and click on the music tab
  4. Mark the trio icon to sync entire music library

 Temporarily Fix 

Connect your Apple device to a computer via a USB cable. Remove it and plug it again. The sync should resume where it stopped.

Drag & Drop

You can also drag and drop a playlist to your iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max and iPhone Xr, it will sync with the music file that you wish.

Manually Manage Videos

Locate the summary tab, click on “Manually manage videos” option. You should now be able to add music to your iPhone manually.

Turn Off Music Sync

Switch off sync music, wipe off music file from iOS device in usage and then click on manage storage

 Wi-Fi Syncing

On your iTunes program, locate General, then go to iTunes WiFi Sync and then Sync now
