How To Fix The Issue Of Not Receiving Text Messages On iPhone 8 (Solved)

Some owners of the Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus have complained of not receiving messages on their devices. Other owners have reported about not being able to send messages on their Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. There are primarily two reasons why you might be experiencing these issue on your Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus.

The first reason is that maybe the person that sent the message to you is using an Android phone. The second reason is that you are sending the message to someone not using an iPhone, if you send a message to someone using smartphones like Windows, Android, or Blackberry because the message will be sent as an iMessage, which is exclusive to iPhones.

Most owners of the Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus face these two problems, for example, if you had used iMessage on a device you owned before and transferred the SIM card you used in that device into your new iPhone. There are others that forgot to disable iMessage before putting the old SIM card into the new Apple iPhone 8 or iPhone 8 Plus.

Your contacts can still use iMessage to send you a text message, which you will not be able to receive. However, the good news is that this issue can be fixed. I’ll explain how you can solve this issue on your Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus.

Fixing Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus Not Receiving Text Messages:

An effective method that you can try to use is locating the Settings on your iPhone, click on Messages, and then click on Send & Receive. You can then select your Apple ID for iMessage and log in with your Apple ID details. You should ensure that your phone number and your Apple ID are included in the option named You Can Be Reached By iMessage. You can now go back to the other phone that you were using before and click on Settings, go to Messages and click on Send & Receive.

In case your former phone is no longer with you or you’re encountering issues turning off the iMessage, it’s not hopeless. If Apple didn’t account for people who don’t hold onto tech they’re no longer using, they would be shooting themselves in the foot.

The best method to consider is to use this link to the Deregister iMessage page and disable iMessage. As soon as you get to the deregister iMessage page, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the option named “no longer have your iPhone?” Under this option, a field will be provided for you to type in your phone number. After typing your phone number, tap on Send Code. Type down the Code in the box named “enter confirmation code,” and you can now tap on submit.

After doing this successfully, you should now be able to receive messages on your iPhone from other users.
