How To Use Galaxy S8 & Galaxy S8 Plus Emoji

Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus running on the newest Android version, came with over 200 new emoji characters – a real joy for the fans of these cool funny faces. Just in case you didn’t know, having access to all the new emojis won’t require anything complicated. You don’t have to look up for a new keyboard, nor to make any kind of update. In fact, it’s all even much easier than it used to be with the previous Samsung Galaxy devices.

Now that you literally have tons of emojis to choose from, your Android stock is filled with smiley faces, animal faces, the famous Taco and many others. The selection kept, as you would expect, all the other emojis initially available in the new Android version. The stock keyboard that comes with the newest Android has some special settings that you can use in order to access all these emojis from their dedicated keyboard panel.

Our point is that you should forget those emoji keyboards from the Play Store. You don’t need any iOS add-on or the popular texting app with emojis, Textra, when your smartphone already has a lot of cool emojis built in. Here is what you need to do in order to access them.

How to use emojis on Galaxy S8/S8 Plus

The following instructions were designed for those who rely on the Samsung built-in keyboard. If you’re using any other third-party app, the steps could be more or less different, whether you’re using the Facebook messenger or the texting app. So, only for the Samsung dedicated keyboard, you have a one-click fast access method to Samsung’s entire database of emojis. How cool is that?

To stick to the subject, with your Samsung keyboard laid on the display, you can access the emoji keyboard in two different ways:

  1. You tap on the Smiley Face icon sitting next to the input field where you usually write your messages;
  2. You long press the settings button sitting next to the left side of the comma key.

This is how you have access to a separate keyboard, filled with may pages of emojis, divided by categories. You can swipe from one page to another and explore the tons of features and options – that’s right, you even have the birdie finger in there – and decide which ones you’d like to use.

The more you resort to these emojis, the more of an often-used collection you will gather. So, to access your most recently used emojis, just tap on the Clock option of your Samsung Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8 Plus keyboard.

Bear in mind that the two options above listed are available for any other app that uses the stock Samsung keyboard. But in addition to it, some apps come with new and different categories of emoji or stickers, like the Facebook Messenger or the Google Hangouts chats will do. Even so, this can only mean more options for you.

When you use the dedicated apps, you can rely on their custom stickers and emojis and you can be sure that your texting buddies will get those emojis because they use the same app with you. As for the plain texting messages, you can always rely on your Samsung’s built-in keyboard and its huge selection of emojis. Switching from the emoji keyboard to the text keyboard will only require you to select the ABC button from the bottom left corner of your keyboard.
