For those that own an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus, you may want to know how to access text message settings on iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. When you go to iPhone 7 text message settings, it allows you to manage many different things like iMessage, Send Read Receipts, Group Messaging and being able to block texts from people. In addition, you have the ability to personalize different features using the text message feature on iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

You can get to the text message settings by opening the Settings app on the home screen of your iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus. From there, browse and tap on Messages to access text message settings. Below are some of the great text message settings that can be changed.

  • iMessage: The iMessage feature allows you to send iMessages to others with this services on iOS devices like iPhone, iPad and iPod touch and also on Mac. iMessages are free and can be sent over Wi-Fi or the cellular data network without having the need to use SMS fees.

  • Send Read Receipts: If you turn this feature on, it’ll allow others to know if you’ve read their message with a time stamp. So you can’t use an excuses of not reading their message yet, because they’ll know the exact time you open the message.

  • Send As SMS: When iMessage is unavailable because of either WiFi or mobile services problems, you can send the message via a SMS text. Be careful, cellular service plan may charge an extra fee for SMS.

  • Send & Receive: This feature allows you to add more e-mail addresses where you want to receive iMessages. To add an email select on Send & Receive, select on Add Another Email and type in your email.

  • MMS Messaging: Here you can access settings to send pictures, videos and voice memos. Type in the info from your cellular service provider in the MMS section of Settings→General→Cellular→Cellular Data Network

  • Group Messaging: This settings is to control messages from multiple people over SMS/MMS.

  • Show Subject Field: You have the option to add a Subject Field, like an email has. All you need to do is turn this feature on and type in the Subject field when writing a text or iMessage.

  • Character Count: You can have your iPhone show you have many characters have been written in your message. This feature shows up next to the text-entry field in the New Message scree.

  • Blocked: This allows you to type in a persons number that you want to block and not tests, calls, messages, or FaceTime from.
