Battery Drains Fast On LG G7 (Solved)

The much-anticipated release of the latest flagship device from LG has many users calling it one of the best smartphones for 2018. However, users have noticed that there have been issues regarding battery life. It is normal for a flagship device to have all the latest bells and whistles when it comes to features that may have a strain on the battery life of your device. But, getting drained quickly is not normal and can be a problem. There may be issues with third-party apps that are malfunctioning or glitches in the software that needs to be addressed. We share with you ways on how to help fix a quick battery drain on the LG G7.

Disable Or Manage Background Sync

There are instances when apps keep on running in the background even when not in use. What you need to do is to disable these apps which can be done by going to the Quick Settings and swiping down and Tap on Sync to disable it. Another way is to go to Settings > Accounts and disable sync for apps you don’t need. You may notice that you now have extra battery life on your LG G7 once you disable Facebook background sync

Disable LTE, Location, Bluetooth

Having your Internet connection turned on all the time with Bluetooth and location tracking on your device activated as well can cause a major power drain on battery life. There are times that you need to turn off these when you don’t need them. If you really need your location service to be on all the time, you can place your phone on power saving mode. When you need to use GPS for Navigation this is the only time your device will power up and use up your battery. Bluetooth not being used is another power drainer and it should be disabled as well when not in use.

Enable the LG G7 Power-Saving Mode

This feature has many amazing options to help fix the quick battery drain issue. You can choose an option to turn off background data and to limit the smartphone’s performance. GPS can be disabled, backlit keys turned off, and the screen frame rate can be lowered as well. You have the option to enable this mode manually or have your device do it automatically.

Disable Wi-Fi

If your Wi-Fi is enabled the whole day it can cause a strain on your battery life. There are times when you don’t need to be connected to all networks that are available so it’s best to turn this feature off when you are not going to use it. For those who have mobile data plans, you can turn off your wireless connection if you are using mobile data for your internet connection.

Replace TouchWiz Launcher

You may have the app TouchWiz launcher always running in the background without you even noticing it. This causes huge battery drain and takes up a lot of memory space as well. We recommend that you try using the Nova Launcher instead for better performance and enhanced battery life.

Reduce Tethering

A great feature of our smartphones is the ability to connect other devices to the internet. Having your device as a hotspot causes a huge power drain for your device. Best if you turn off this feature when not in use and also reduce the times that you use it.

Reboot or Reset LG G7

One of the ways to fix this problem is to perform a factory reset. In this way, you get to restore your device to factory defaults fixing all bugs and glitches in the process. You can follow this guide on how to reboot and reset the LG G7.
