Galaxy S8 And Galaxy S8 Plus: How to Enable or Disable Driving Mode

If you’re using the Galaxy S8 smartphone version from Verizon, you must have noticed that Driving Mode setting that it provides. With this feature, you can automatically reject voice calls through messages suggestive for your current activity.
Long story short, you can let your caller know that you are driving for the time being, by sending a default message that says “I’m driving right now – I’ll get back to you later” without you even having to type a single letter!
Judging by the fact that it completely spares you from having to look at the phone’s display while driving, it is certainly a much-appreciated feature. Here is how to enable and configure the Driving Mode on Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8 Plus:

  1. Launch the dedicated Messages+ app of your Verizon device;
  2. Tap on the Menu button from the upper-left corner of the display;
  3. Select the Driving Mode;
  4. Tap on Add Device to associate a Bluetooth device to the Driving Mode – this is the only way the feature will stay active;
  5. After pairing the phone with the Bluetooth device, check the box for the option labeled as “Driving Mode Auto-reply”.

Now that you have learned how to enable this mode, it becomes obvious that all you have to do in order to disable it is to uncheck those boxes.
As an extra cool feature, if you select the option labeled as “Driving Auto-Reply Message”, you will be able to change the predefined text message into something more personalized.
This is, for the time being, the only way to activate the Driving Mode with Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8 Plus. The manufacturer pulled out the previous Samsung Driving Mode available on other Galaxy S devices previous to Galaxy S7 models.
