  1. Visit the URL com/findwith another device
  2. If required, input your Apple ID for verification purposes
  3. At the top of the browser, click on All Devices
  4. Choose the device you want to wipe
  5. Click on Erase (iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max and iPhone Xr) which will wipe all data on your device set up as new or restore from a backup

If your device is not connected to a cellular or Wi-Fi network, it is not possible to erase it with the Find My iPhone method.

  1. Plug in your Apple iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max and iPhone Xr to your PC
  2. Launch the iTunes app and input the passcode if you receive a prompt, and try to use a computer you have synced with in the past, or try the Recovery Mode
  3. After your iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max and iPhone Xr has synced successfully with iTunes, create a backup of all data and files
  4. After syncing and creating the backup, tap on Restore [your device]
  5. Once the Set-Up screenpowers up on the iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max and iPhone Xr, click on Restore from iTunes backup
  6. Tap on your iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max and iPhone Xr smartphone in iTunes. Check for the latest backup among your list of backups and select the most relevant one

If you’ve never synced with iTunes or set up Find My iPhone in iCloud, you’ll need to use recovery mode to restore your device. This will erase the device and its passcode.

  1. Plug in your Apple iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max and iPhone Xr to your PC and launch the iTunes app
  2. Once your smartphone has connected to the computer, make sure you force restart it – Simply press down the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button at the same time for about ten seconds until the Apple logo shows on the screen, and continue to do this until you boot into Recovery Mode
  3. Once you locate the Restore or Update options, click on Update. iTunes will automatically reinstall iOS without deleting your data. Leave your iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max and iPhone Xr until iTunes has successfully downloaded the software on the device
