Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Eye Scroll (Solution)

The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge has many great new features and some have called it the best smartphones of 2016. One icon that people keep asking questions about is the Galaxy S7 Edge eye scroll icon in the status bar of the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. For those that want to know what the eye icon means in the Galaxy S7 Edge status bar, the eye symbol means that Smart Stay is activated, which is a feature that can illuminate the display as long as you look at it.
The Galaxy S7 Edge eye scroll symbol appears at regular intervals and then disappears again. What this means is that when the eye icon is activate and on the status appear, it tells you that the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is checking to see if you’re watching the screen or not. This works with the front camera of the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge and checks for simple patterns, whether you’re still watching the screen to activate the Smart Stay feature.

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Eye Scroll (Solution):

  1. Turn on the Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7 Edge
  2. Go to Menu
  3. Select on Settings
  4. Select on Display
  5. Browse for the option called “Stay Smart”
  6. Check the box
  7. The eye icon will now appear in the status bar of the Galaxy S7 Edge

Also, the “Smart Stay” feature for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge is in the same menu. Smart Stay will allow the smartphone to actively turn the display ON and OFF based on eye recognition. The way that Smart Stay works is the eye tracking is based on the front sensors of the Galaxy S7 Edge camera which can recognize when the user looks away and dim or turn off the display, then turn back on once you glance back at the screen.
