How to Turn Voice Off on Samsung TVs

There are three types of people: those who love the Samsung TV new Voice feature, and those who hate it. Then, there are those in-between who find it helpful but don’t use it very often – and that’s perfectly fine.

In this article, we’ll show you how to turn your Samsung TV voice off. Plus, we’ll help you discover some other useful features.

What Is Samsung Voice?

The new generation of Samsung TVs come with lots of exciting options. One such feature is Voice Guide – which some users have never tried before. Voice Guide is there to help people with visual impairments, such as short-sightedness. Put simply, it reads the menu out loud for those who can’t see it correctly.

However, this feature has many benefits, and other users love it for different reasons. It’s like your TV is talking back to you, explaining stuff. For example, it can read out app names for you, so you can select the right app even if you can’t see its title. Also, it can help you when you don’t know where to find a certain feature.

On the other hand, Voice Guide sometimes speaks too much. This can be irritating, especially if you’ve had a rough day at work and the last thing you want is your TV talking back to you! Fortunately, you can get rid of it in a couple of seconds.

How to Turn Voice Off

Although some Samsung TVs may not have the same menu, general settings usually look the same. You can find the Voice feature under the Accessibility section. Grab your remote control and follow our guide:

  1. Press the Home button on your remote control.
  2. Go to Settings in the bottom left corner of the screen.
  3. Open General Settings.
  4. Select Accessibility.
  5. Turn off Voice Guide.

There you have it! The voice guide is now off, and you can relax as the voice won’t be irritating you anymore.

Of course, you can turn it back on whenever you want. Follow the steps mentioned above, and instead of turning the Voice off, slide it in the opposite direction to turn it on. You’ll know that Voice guide is on again because it will immediately start speaking.

Note: Once you turn the voice off, it should stay like that unless you change the settings. However, don’t be too surprised if you hear the voice after days of silence. Sometimes your TV automatically resets the settings. Of course, this doesn’t happen often, and you can always turn it off again.

Voice Settings

If you want to access these settings, you first have to turn the Voice guide on, as described above. You should then see the following options below: Volume, Speed, and Pitch.

  1. Volume – If you find the voice too loud, but you don’t want to turn it off, we’ve got you covered. You can choose the volume level from three options: Loud, Medium, and Soft. Of course, you can preview each option to hear what it sounds like before you decide.
  2. Speed – When it comes to speed, there are five options: Very fast, Fast, Normal, Slow, and Very slow. That’s a great variety of choice which is perfect for people with hearing impairment or those who speak English as a second language.
  3. Pitch – You can also choose the voice pitch that sounds most natural to you. You can select either high, medium, and low pitch.

Initially, many people thought they didn’t like the Voice feature, only to realize it was the actual tone of the voice that bothered them. With these fantastic options, everyone can customize the voice, and continue to use this amazing feature.

Be Quiet!

We believe that Samsung’s new feature is awesome, but you shouldn’t exaggerate it. As they say, technology is here to help us, not to control us. That’s why you can always turn this option off if it bothers you too much.
