How To Use LG G7 Mobile Hotspot Feature

Most of the time, especially when you’re not at home and you want a friend that doesn’t have a mobile data on their phone, your best option is to have them connect with your LG G7 hotspot to enable them to get an access with the Internet too. Setting up your LG G7 as a mobile hotspot is also a good option especially when your friends or family members are connected to a poor public WiFi connection, and your mobile data is much faster than it.

If you are worried about the great stake it would put on your LG G7’s battery life prior to the usage of the Mobile Hotspot feature, don’t worry because it only drains a little amount of your battery’s life unlike being connected on a WiFi connection. In order to use the LG G7 hotspot, the first thing you need to do is set up your LG G7’s Hotspot feature. The method of setting it up is quite easy and quick to perform. So without further ado, here’s the step in activating the mobile hotspot on your phone and how to change the security password of it on your LG G7.

Using your LG G7 as a Wireless Hotspot

  1. Open your smartphone
  2. Head to the Notification Settings by sliding down your finger at the homescreen in a downward motion
  3. Press the Settings option located in the upper right corner of your screen
  4. Search for the Browse for Tethering and WiFi hotspot option then press it
  5. Choose the Mobile Hotspot option
  6. Switch the Toggle ON to activate it
  7. Press OK on the Attention screen saying that your WiFi connection will be turned OFF
  8. Proceed to the directions catered at the bottom of your screen to enable other devices to connect to your LG G7’s mobile hotspot

Changing the Password and Security Type of your LG G7’s Hotspot

It’s normal for the LG G7 to include a password for the Mobile Hotspot feature. It also defaults to WPA2 for security. Follow the steps catered below to change the settings:

  6. Press the 3-point symbol to view the underneath options
  7. Choose Configure
  8. Type in the New Password, then press Save

It’s essential to know that other data plans don’t offer Mobile Hotspot unless you upgraded your subscription with them. Once you have followed the instructions above and you detected that the Mobile Hotspot feature isn’t working, we recommend that you contact your wireless carrier and ask them the compatible data plan for it.
