If you live in Australia and want to get a pair of sneakers on StockX, you might be wondering if that’s possible. Plus, what are the shipping costs? Sneaker enthusiasts worldwide can finally reap the benefits of StockX as it’s gone international. As of April 2020, StockX officially caters to a global audience.
Shipping StockX Items to Australia
We know how annoying it can be to find the perfect pair of sneakers only to find out that it’s not possible to ship to your country. However, the wait is finally over and StockX has started to ship to Australia, Canada, the UK, and several other European countries. You can now get those deadstock sneakers you’ve had your heart set on for a long time.
International Shipping Rates
Since StockX now sends products worldwide, you’re probably wondering about the shipping rates. Is the shipping cost to Australia going to be more expensive than the actual sneakers? Are there any hidden fees? When you buy something on StockX, wherever you are, you’ll see all the costs and fees on the product page. There won’t be any surprise or unexpected charges when you receive your package.
Furthermore, StockX has lower shipping rates. For Australia, you only have to pay $45 – check fedex.com and you’ll see that it’s at least 4x more for the dimensions of a shoebox. Compared to some other online marketplaces, this isn’t that costly. Keep in mind that there’s still a standard International Processing fee.
How to Ship Goods to Australia
When you sell a product to Australia or any other country, proper shipping is essential. We’ll now show you how to do it so that it meets StockX standards. You should know that you have two days to go to the nearest UPS Store. Or, you can ask them to pick up the product at your home at a scheduled time. Although the item isn’t shipping directly to the buyer in Australia, you still must pack it properly.
If you’re selling shoes, make sure that you put the shoes and the invoice in the original shoebox. Next, you should get a bigger box, known as a double box for the shoebox. It shouldn’t be too much bigger than the inner box (the shoebox), or you’re going to have to add padding (like bubble wrap or some shipping paper) to keep it from bouncing around in transit.
When you’re done with that, you should now seal the box. However, there’s a particular way StockX asks you to do it. You should seal the box using the ‘H’ method, meaning you must seal the seams and across the side flaps. Finally, tape the UPS label on the outside of your box. Should the item pass inspection, StockX will ship it to your buyer in Australia.
Changing the Currency on StockX
When changing the currency on StockX wasn’t an option, international buyers were charged double conversions. These losses could go up to 2.5% of the sale. However, StockX has recently introduced another valuable feature, and that’s changing the default currency. So if you live in Australia, it’d be better if you update the currency to the Australian dollar. There are two ways to do it, using your computer and the app.
