How To Turn OFF Weather Alerts On Galaxy S8 And Galaxy S8 Plus

For those in possession of the Samsung Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8 Plus, it would be a good idea knowing what use the weather alerts on Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus are meant for. The weather alert notification on the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus provides some safety aspects. But severe weather alerts may not be desirable and hence some users may want to get rid of them on their Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus are set to receive severe weather and emergency alert warnings. These warnings are issued by government agencies such as the National Weather Service, FCC or FEMA. Even the Homeland Security issues some severe weather warnings. Installing the weather alerts is for your own good but you can still turn off these alerts and we will see how in a short while.

Sever or emergency weather alerts are provided on all the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the S8 Plus smartphones. Other smartphones have these weather alerts as well but some users have complained suggesting that the alerts sounded by Samsung can get annoyingly loudest. There are four types of alerts on Samsung Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus smartphone. These alerts are; Amber, Severe, Extreme and Presidential. You can turn all of these alerts off except just one.

 

Turning Weather Alerts off on Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus

Simply go to the Messaging application on your Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus and follow the steps provided below;

  1. Click on the three dots provided at the top right corner of your screen. This is menu button
  2. From here, go to Settings and browse for Emergency Alerts.
  3. For every option you no longer to get alerts from, make sure you uncheck the box adjacent to it.

 

Turning the alerts on again is very simple. All you have to do is follow the steps provided in this guide and check the boxes you had unchecked. As mentioned before, there is only one alert that you cannot turn off. This is the Presidential alert. Follow this guide to easily turn off those alerts on Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus that unnecessarily interrupted you.
