How To Leave Group Chat On iPhone X

iPhone X have made communication between friends a lot more easily even without the use of social media apps. The iPhone X allows you to use the Group Chat to communicate with a group of your friends at the same time on your iPhone X. It is however disturbing when people keep sending messages to the group yet the message is only intended for one or a couple of the group members. This has forced some people to look for ways of exiting the Group iMessage Chat on their iPhone X. Luckily, we have two easy ways of leaving group chats or muting them on your iPhone X.

Leave a Group Chat in Messages on iPhone X

This solution is intended for iPhone X users who would like to completely get rid of Group Chat on their smartphones. To leave the group entirely, you must access the Group Message on your iPhone X and then go to Details. The Details you will see re those of contact details of the members of the chat group, all the media shared in the chat group as well as the location settings. Look for red labelled option that allows you to Leave this Conversation just above the attachments section. Select this option to leave the group on your iPhone X.

You should know that once you use this method, you cannot join the group chat again neither will you receive any messages from the exited group chats.

This option to leave the Group Chat is only available to iPhone X users who are using iMessages. If there are members in the Group Chat who are using the normal SMS messages, the option to Leave this Conversation will be grey or invisible, indicating that it is not available.

Mute a Group Chat in Messages with Do Not Disturb

In some cases, you may want to leave the Group Chat temporarily during a meeting or other event. In such cases, it becomes necessary to use the Do Not Disturb feature. Mute the group messages using Do Not Disturb feature and unmute whenever you’d like.

To mute using the Do not Disturb setting, go to Messages and open the thread you’d like to mute. Once there, click on the Details. Locate and tap on the Do Not Disturb option from the Details. Once you do this, you will not receive any form of sound or vibration notifications from the group.

Unlike the previous solution, the Do Not Disturb option works for all types of Group Chat including iMessages and SMS. This option allows you to review all the messages sent to the group at a later date. That way you can stay in the loop in case any informative info was passed down in the group.
